Questions people actually ask

When's the next Thimphu Tshechu departure, and how long is the trip?

8 days, 7 nights, 19–26 September 2026, timed to Day One of the Thimphu Tshechu at Tashichhodzong. It's a once-a-year festival, so this exact departure doesn't repeat until next autumn.

What's actually included in the ₹43,000?

Double-sharing 3-star hotels for all 7 nights, breakfast and dinner daily (including one authentic Bhutanese dinner at a Paro farmstay), pick-up and drop from Bagdogra/NJP/Siliguri, all transfers and sightseeing on the itinerary, a licensed English/Hindi-speaking guide, the Sustainable Development Fee, and mineral water.

Is the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) included?

Yes. Bhutan's SDF, ₹1,200 per adult (12+), ₹600 for ages 6–12, free under 6, is already built into the package price. You won't pay it again at the border.

Do Indian nationals need a visa for Bhutan?

No visa is required. A valid passport or Voter ID gets you across at the Bhutan Gate (a birth certificate for children). Keep the original on you, not a photocopy, for the full trip.

What's the cancellation policy?

30+ days before departure: full refund, deposit retained and adjustable to a future trip. 15–29 days: 25% of tour cost. 7–14 days: 50%. 6 days or less, or a no-show: no refund. A non-refundable ₹5,000 deposit confirms the seat, with the balance due 15 days before departure.

Is the hike to Tiger's Nest difficult?

Easy to moderate. It's a real climb, roughly 900 metres up to the monastery, but horses are available for part of the way if you'd rather ride than walk. Comfortable shoes and layers make the difference.

Are there other dates if I can't make the Tshechu departure?

Yes. The same circuit also runs as a shorter 7D/6N trip (no festival) across several dates from September through December, at a flat ₹36,000. Custom dates and private group departures are available too.

What's not included in the price?

Lunch and any extra meals or drinks, sightseeing beyond the itinerary, monument entry fees, mandatory driver and guide tips, and travel insurance (strongly recommended for a high-altitude trip like this one).
